American voters, we’re in your hands.

Today, the United States will be electing their new president.
As I previously mentioned, no matter the outcome, the results will be historic: the USA will either elect its first female president, or a third party president (which is honestly unlikely), or its first orange president who is misogynistic, racist, Islamophobic, xenophobic, and a pathological liar of a scumbag who think sexually assaulting women is his right and privilege.
Some people may be wondering why the fuck do we, here on the other side of the globe, care about these elections. The reality is that the USA remains to be a superpower whose reach and influence affects every single nation on Earth. US policy, culture, military, and economics impact the direction of the rest of the world.
Whether we like this or not, it’s currently a fact of earthly life, and unless we decide to move to Mars, US interests become the interest of the remainder of the planet. Unless there is a global shift in power, which is not likely to happen in the near future, then the US remains to be the biggest global influencer there is, and its leader will shape how that influence will affect all other nations.
We non-Americans may not be able to vote, but we certainly have reasons to have strong opinions about the US elections, especially one as divisive and – frankly – scandalous as this one has been.
The reality is that the fate of the world rests on the hands of American voters.
Let’s hope our American brethren will do the right thing.
