2017 cannot come fast enough.
Not only did a glorious new Wonder Woman image appear…
Injustice Strikes Back

I have been waiting for the Injustice: Gods Among Us sequel for years, and I am friggin’ stoked because this is one of my favorite – if not my favorite – games of all time. I have spent hours upon hours upon hours across the last three years on both the console and mobile versions, and DC and NetherRealm do not disappoint.
Judging from the trailer released for the sequel, it looks like they will continue to not disappoint.
Mind Your Own Closet

I won’t lie and say that there are no closet cases that irritate me. I’m not perfect, and there are certain types I hold in disdain. They fall into two categories:
- The closet cases who compensate for it by being homophobic and are assholes towards other gay people. These closet cases, in my opinion, deserve a lot of rightful shaming for being vile hypocrites.
- The closet cases who use unsuspecting women as beards in order to give off the illusion that they are straight. Often, this type of relationship results in major pain for the woman involved, and in some cases, can also lead to abuse. (I’m 50/50 on closet cases who date women who know the truth and are willing parties in order to help cover up for the guy; I guess that depends on the situation.)
Happy birthday, George Pérez!

There are a lot of comic artists I love. Adam Hughes. Kevin Maguire. Alan Davis. Bryan Hitch. Nicola Scott. Aaron Lopresti. Alex Ross. Art Adams. Colleen Doran. And quite a few more.
However, the one who will always be my favorite is George Pérez, who from what I’ve seen on Facebook is not only a wonderful creator but is also one of the nicest people on the planet.
I got into comics because of George. Specifically, this issue of his Wonder Woman caught my eye in an Alemar’s store in the late 80s. (I just carbon-dated myself.)
Hot guys who read…

Today at The Library Underground, I talk about the time I spent with Alexander Dreymon, star of the upcoming Blood Ransom with Anne Curtis and who also matched wits with Patti LuPone herself in last year’s American Horror Story: Coven.
He reads, and he can hold his own against an icon like Patti LuPone (until she shoves a pillow on his face, that is).
Not-So-Amazing

Some random non-spoilery thoughts about The Amazing Spider-Man 2:
1. This Electro has such a Dr. Manhattan slash Palpatine complex.
2. It looks like the Sinister Six may have a female in its ranks next movie. Good.
So Now I’m A Minister.

It feels like a Harry Potter moment, somehow.
Kidding aside, I’ve always been a social media addict, so it was quite a pleasant surprise when my mentor Jessica asked me to set up Instragram for The Library of Babel, her publisher slash online distributor. The IG idea quickly expanded to include Facebook and Twitter.
The Gray Space

One of the more difficult things in being a genre fiction writer (horror, fantasy, sci-fi, action-adventure, etc.) is how to write believable and three-dimensional antagonists, i.e. villains. Genre fiction, after all, are usually good vs. evil tales at the core.

The Boy Who Lived… Forever

I’ve only really followed Harry Potter through the movies. I haven’t read any of the books except The Half-Blood Prince, which was given to me as a gift by one of my best friends several years back. The film version of The Half-Blood Prince left me gagging because of how it butchered what was a very good book, and that and the the film adaptation of The Prisoner of Azkaban have remained the sore spots in an otherwise amazing movie franchise.
