I guess it’s appropriate that Josh Duhamel, one of the leads of “Transformers: Dark of the Moon”, is married to the vocalist of The Black Eyed Peas. The movie turned into one big Boom Boom Pow in its last hour. I’ve never before seen a movie with a one-hour climax, but here you have it.
Just Green and Bear It

I was never a fan of Hal Jordan, the Silver Age Green Lantern. When I was growing up as a huge fan of DC comics, he bored me. He wasn’t awful or anything, he was still a staple of my Super Friends formative years, but he did nothing for me. I didn’t dislike him; I just didn’t like him. The Big Three (Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman) were always portrayed as “too perfect,” but I found them fascinating.
GL was okay but bland to me. Mind, I later heard he was good in the GL/GA 70’s stories, but aside from that, what I read were never enough to make me follow him. I found other Green Lanterns worthier of my time. Then, in the 90’s, Hal was replaced by the infinitely more interesting Kyle Rayner.

And so Charles and Erik begin to train their newly-gathered ragtag band of misfits. Training montage!
We see Charles constantly grabbing Banshee by the throat to teach him how to properly “control his muscles” there. We see Hank and Havok, who bares his lovely arms, routinely bickering like a loving couple.

“Prof. X and Magneto: A Love Story” is a more apt title for “X-Men: First Class.” In this prequel (or re-boot, the jury seems to still be out on that one) to the “X-Men” movie series, we see how it all began with Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr, future frenemies and apparently former star-crossed would-have-been-lovers, except for the conflicting ideologies.
