Cult of Personality

No, “love of president” is not automatically “love of country” (or vice-versa). Otherwise, then you never loved your country all the times you criticized Duterte, or PNoy, or GMA, or Erap, or Ramos, or Cory, or Marcos, during their time. How fallacious.

This kind of rhetoric is foolish and dangerous, one that has only been propagated by the likes of Hitler, Stalin, and ancient pharaohs who had set themselves up as gods.

Imaginary Catfights

People on social media dragging Jennifer Aniston’s name into the Brangelina divorce just for “a laugh” are pathetic.

It’s been over ten years, she’s clearly moved on, and her husband Justin Theroux is way hotter than Brad (#sorrynotsorry). I’m almost sure she barely gives a fuck, if at all. And while I’m not a big fan of Jennifer (despite being a Friends fanatic, she was my least liked person on the show), the woman is in a vastly different place now, and she deserves peace and happiness after a successful career.

Marsha Lo

Many seek to rewrite history, especially the atrocities that stemmed from this date 44 years ago.

Never allow them to win, for otherwise the tens of thousands of victims shall be victims again twice over, and our country will be forever stained with the blood of the innocent.

They could be brothers.

Yesterday, I wrote about Kevin Zegers (1984), of whom I’m a huge fan.

What I didn’t mention is how I’ve always thought how much similar he looked to two other actors that I adore: the older Ian Somerhalder (1978) and the younger Zac Efron (1987). (If you don’t know any of them, especially Zac, please abandon the rock you’ve made your home and join us in civilization.) They all look distinct enough but have sufficient similar features and angles that they could be brothers.

As it turns out, I’m not the only one who thinks this because I’ve encountered at least one site that basically agreed with me.

The Male Revelation: 32

I first saw Canadian actor Kevin Zegers in the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead. Apparently, he’d already built a bit of a name as a child actor starring in the Air Bud series, but as I’d never watched those films, I only got to know about him in that classic zombiepocalypse revamp where he played a young mall security guard torn between his loyalty to his colleagues and doing the right thing.

Yes, I won’t deny that he caught my eye because he’s so cute and adorable. Look at him.

Babaylan at 24

Last night, I attended Babaylan Night, celebrating the 24th anniversary of UP Babaylan. As an alumnus of this trailblazing LGBT organization and a member of its alumni NGO (Babaylanes, Inc.), I am proud of all that the group has achieved in the past quarter of a century.

It was also great to have seen old friends once again and to have met a few new ones, both founders as well as newbies.

Ah, Pietro.

If at this point in time you have not heard of Pietro Boselli – that perfect Italian male specimen who is both an underwear a fashion model and a Doctor of Engineering, not to mention a former math lecturer – then I worry for you, darling.

The twenty-something gorgeous man went viral last year, and with good reason.

Just look at him.

I discovered Slovenian musical group Perpetuum Jazzile a few months back on YouTube, and if you’ve never heard or seen them, it’s time to correct that.

Punch your cards and cut loose, folks.

Happy weekend!
